COVENANT OF MENOTH

Menoth’s Covenant with the people seems impenetrable and obscure. In truth, it is quite simple: obey the True Law or be washed from the face of Caen – The Harbinger of Menoth

The Covenant of Menoth is a call to war. For two millennia it lay hidden and was studied in secret only by select priests. As the Crusade’s flames spread, however, its passages echoed through Immoren once again, strengthening the Lawbringer’s loyal warriors and striking down the arcane tricks of His enemies. It is a devastating weapon of the True Faith.

I started working on my Protectorate of Menoth army again. I am completely rebasing them so that they are all on chunks of Cities of Death pieces. I decided that I wanted to alter the standard look of the Convenant, so instead of having a dude carrying the Book on his back, I have converted him to be hefting it with both meaty arms.

I did all the pinning and such today. Maybe I can slap a little paint on it later. Looking forward to getting this one finished. I will post some updated pictures when I make some progress in this project.

PROTECTORATE BASES

I am working on my Protectorate of Menoth army again, and I decided that I was going to tear them all off their bases, and redo them. I have started to add cut off sections of Games Workshop Cities of Death parts to give my wee dudes a “wrecked city” look. This required cutting the Cities of Death sections down, and pinning them to the base to ensure they were stable. Mainly because Privateer Press bases have that famous lip, and that made putting the sections on the bases somewhat difficult.

Now I just need to get a little time to paint. When I get some more work done, and have worthwhile updates to share, I will toss out another post.

But until then … keep rollin’ sixes.

HIGH EXEMPLAR KREOSS

If you didn’t believe in the Creator before, you will today. – Long Gunner Sergeant Terschel Bannock to a fresh recruit sent into battle against the Knights Exemplar

Alright, true believers.

Go to the Privateer Press forums and brush up on your tactics with good old High Exemplar Kreoss.

And keep rollin’ sixes.

Bloody Bradigan

For Miniature Monday (#minaturemonday on Twitter) I present Bloody Bradigan.

I play Mercenaries, and I thought it was about time to get some of the Talion charter fnished. I’m sure I can use his Weapon Master fists in my army somewhere. All I need to do once the paint dries is add some flock, and seal the model.

Awesome Tharnness: Ghetorix

From the Privateer Press website:

Once a proud Tharn king, Ghetorix was bested in combat and captured by Kromac for defying Morvahna the Autumnblade. As penance for his defiance, Morvahna forced the warpwolf elixir upon the defeated king, transforming him into one of the fiercest warpwolves the Circle has ever known.

Ghetorix’s thirst for blood and hunger for violence is legendary. His howled battle cry sets his foes’ hair on end, breaking spirits even before his axe and teeth bite into flesh. Ghetorix’s bloodlust is slaked only when he stands knee-deep in the entrails of the fallen, his jaws dripping with gore.

The Ghetorix character warpwolf upgrade kit comes in a blister (PIP 72062). The Ghetorix character warpwolf upgrade kit is NOT a complete model. Players will need a Circle Orboros Feral/Pureblood/Stalker Warpwolf Kit (PIP 72057) in addition to this kit. A player may field one Ghetorix in a Circle Orboros army.

Again, Privateer Press knows awesome.

Here’s a new feature I’m going to be starting (although I’ve already brought you a few posts like this last year) where I bring you things that are interesting, just plain cool, or otherwise note-worthy.  All related to Warmachine/Hordes of course…

Don’t have time to sift through the abundance of “stuff” out there?  I’ve got you covered.

The mean people in your computer scare you?

STEELHEAD RIFLEMAN CONVERSIONS

I was reading through the section of the Forces book detailing the Riflemen, and saw that their group is made up of disgruntled soldiers hailing from Long Gunners, Winter Guard, and the like. I started to look through my collection, eyeing up Trenchers and Long Gunners. I didn’t like what I saw in that area. Then I checked out a box of Widowmakers that had ben sitting around collecting dust, and I got to work.

I already have a full unit of Riflemen. So I placed an order with Privateer Press for two sprues of Steelhead Halberdier heads, and two of the one piece Riflemen models. With minimal effort, I have swapped out heads on the Widowmakers, and am pleased with the results. I had considered converting the Widowmaker guns too to make them smaller but dammit I like those sniper rifles!

I probably will not use these models in a tournament because it might confuse those of little brain even if they are told that my Mercenary army does not actually contain Widowmakers and that the models are conversions for Riflemen. However, I am damn sure going to use them in friendly games on G.O.D. club night.
