During TempleCon 2010, my wife played through a quick demo of .45 Adventure. She seemed to like it, and that’s a good thing as far as I’m concerned. She was very happy with the demo because she not only had fun, but also walkd away with a free wooden ruler and a blister pack containing two pulp robots. Very cool. Check out these guys over at their website right here. And you’ll also find that they have some free downloads right here, if you look hard enough.
I’m hoping these guys come back to TempleCon next year. I’d like to try out that demo too.
During TempleCon 2010, we visited a lot of the vendors.
One of our favorites was Cloak & Dagger Creations. My wife bought a full Steampunk-ish outfit and I bought a pirate hat and goggles. Highlander was a tournament played during the Finals, and seemed to be the source of some really fun and exciting games.
Highlander winner ties were decided by the number of cut heads laying on the ground! First place was Jeremy Miller (Menoth), second was Gabe Alonso (Menoth), and third was Tom Hoffmann (Skorne.) (Correct me if I have it wrong please.)
Honorable mention is given to Vic Badger (aka Charbok) who helped the tournament keep flowing smoothly by jumping in after the first round when someone dropped out. By Charbok jumping in when he did, he helped to avoid further byes to players in the tournament. There’s a story that goes along with that too, but I’ll let you find Charbok on the forums and ask him about it yourself. It’s amusing. Just ask him what might have happened had he won his last game.
Anyway, here are the pictures I snapped off during Highlander. I didn’t get many because I was otherwise occupied. But I did get a few. Click on the picture to see a larger version. Enjoy!

Here are some of the pictures I clicked off during the WARMACHINE finals at TempleCon on Sunday. All of the players displayed excellent sportsmanship. It was a hard fought series of three games, ending as you know with Legion winning overall. Enjoy!
Okay, so I’ve arrived at the Crowne Plaza and TempleCon. I’ve been informed that getting to a place is half the fun, and man did we have some fun today! I rolled out of bed at about 500 this morning. We started out from DuBois around 6:30 in the morning. We realized that we would be able to enjoy the sunrise … which seemed cool. And then the horrible reality was realized when we were blinded by the rising sun to the point that we couldn’t really see anything in front of us for about ten minutes during the trip! I felt like my skin should have been glittering! I put on my wanna-be Cygnar Warcaster goggles (aka ski goggled with blue mirror lenses) … and it only turned the iris blaxing sun into a slightly blinding orange glare. But soon all was well, and we were able to see again. Then we got stuck in traffic for about ten minutes in Stroutsburgh, PA where I-80 went down to one lane. No big deal because we cranked up the music and rocked out until we were free to move on again. I had planned to sit cross-legged in traffic reading my MKII book. This would have been a good Gamer Hooligan picture for No Quarter, but traffic never actually stopped completely so no such luck! After that, all was well until we got close to Somerville, NJ where we were stupid enough to get off the interstate to eat at McDonalds. We ended up almost getting killed by several people who apparently were in a big hurry! Apparently tailgating and cutting people off is the way to get things done in NJ! And evidently everyone there is required to have fuzzy dice on their rear view mirrors because honestly, everyone seemed to! I think it was all a NJ S.O.B. plot, I tell you! The crazy drivers, not the fuzzy dice … anyway… So after escaping New Jersey … (It was free to get in … but I had to pay $5 to get out!) we reenacted Mad Max with all the other people driving on I-95. Apparently the posted 55 mph speed limits are secretly 90 mph because now matter how fast my little P T Cruiser was driving, people were gesturing and honking their horns while passing me. Ah, maybe they were just telling me I was #1 … who knows. Maybe they just read this blog and were telling me how much they like my rambling posts … that would explain the middle fingers in the air. But in the end, we arrived at the Crowne Plaza, checked in, and all that jazz. Now my wife and dog are passed out on the bed, and I’m making a list of all the stuff I want to do during my stay.

Well, the countdown is at zero hours and we’re leaving for TempleCon 2010.
This has been a foul week.
I had to drop $900 on my car, my dog was diagnosed with cancer, and my Mom had to go into ICU for a short time to get some stents put in. Now the weather channel is all buzzing about a bad snow storm coming this Friday. But we’ve got our minds set and we’re heading out to TempleCon anyway. Damn the torpedoes.
I have my Cygnar models packed, although I don’t have a army picked out right now. I was hoping that my Press Gang order would show up before I left but no luck. So I’m leaving without my Cygnar Forces book, Cygnar deck, new Press Gang shirts, and the new template set. However, I did pick up MKII at the LGS and I have a basic Cygnar set of MKII cards to use until I get my full deck. I’m planning on using Seige and/or Caine during Eternal War. Don’t plan on playing in any of the actual tournaments. And interestingly enough, I am leaving without any Press Gang shirts because I couldn’t locate either of them!
No worries though because we’ll be in Warwick in about 8 hours. I’ll figure it all out once I get there.
