VIOLENCE IN VIDEO GAMES

Congressman Baca would have you believe that his view of science – that playing video games can lead to aggressive behavior – is the truth.  We know the reality – that video games have many healthy benefits and don’t lead to aggressive behavior.

Baca wants to slap a warning sticker on all games rated E for Everyone that says `WARNING: Exposure to violent video games has been linked to aggressive behavior.’  Write your Representative and tell them to oppose H.R. 4204, “The Video Game Health Labeling Act of 2012.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because Rep. Baca has done this before with similar legislation in previous Congressional sessions.  In fact Rep. Wolf, who has joined him on this legislation, teamed up with him before.  The legislation didn’t pass then, so let’s make sure it doesn’t this time either.  Maybe if our voice is loud enough we won’t have to repeat this fight in the next legislation session.

Congress has more important things to do than mess with the already solid video game rating system, the ESRB.

This whole issue feels like a broken record.  The Supreme Court said as much last year.  Let’s make sure to speak loudly, so that members of Congress learn that video gamers aren’t pawns in election years.  Take the 30 seconds and write your Representative today, and make sure to help spread the word to your friends and family.

Happy gaming,
