Another Message from Brett Schenker

This week, tens of thousands of individuals descend upon San Diego in one of the largest celebrations of entertainment. With each passing year, increasingly more of that entertainment consumption is digital. At the same time, our digital rights are being chipped away by special interests and Congress. That’s why we’re asking you to declare your support of Internet freedom by signing this petition and spreading it to everyone you know.

The principles are simple: anti-censorship; better and more affordable access; promoting openness and innovation; and protecting our privacy.

This is just the beginning. The Entertainment Consumers Association has teamed up with numerous others for this drive. We’ve spent the last year saying “no” to legislation like SOPA, PIPA and CISPA. This time, we’re collectively setting the agenda by opting in and saying “yes” to this petition.

The Internet is an engine of creativity and innovation, the likes of which we’ve never seen before. Its power allows us to interact and consume entertainment and information instantly, while connecting around the globe. We need to take this stand and define our rights now, before they’re chipped away at those rights bit by bit.

Take a moment to sign the petition, and share it with your friends and family.

Happy gaming!
