Sage Advice was an interesting article in Dragon magazine. For me, it was always a double-edge sword because it provided answers to questions, updates to rules, and text clarifications … but … also opened the door for Rules Lawyers to cause trouble in the game itself.
The new Sage Advice catalogs questions asked by players and answered by D&D staff. The following three are tidbits that I saved because they were of special interest to me.
1. HOW TO PRONOUNCE: GENASI
Genasi are planetouched beings infused with the power of the Elemental Chaos, most often as the result of crossbreeding between humans and the genie races or other elementals that dwell in such planes.
jeh-NAH-see … like the beer? Hm. Okay…
2. DISARMING ATTACK
Maybe it’s just a nuance, but I think it’s a point to keep in mind. There’s nothing stopping you from disarming and then picking up the weapon as long as the DM is cool with it.
3. Mount + Disengage
Again, I know that a mount can take an action, for example, it can Attack. I never actually thought about the mount using Disengage to prevent Opportunity Attacks. Lucily, my players don’t read my blog posts so they’ll never see this … most likely.
