A white-yellow wasteland stretches from horizon to horizon. The tremendous heat of two huge twin suns settle on two figures, Biv Bodhrik and Saska Teft, both agents working for the Rebellion. They stand near the remains of a crashed shuttle. Smoking still billows out of the wreckage.
The two scan the horizon, talking without looking at each other. Saska complains about being forced to shade her eyes, commenting that she should have brought goggles.. Biv has his binoculars out scanning slowly.
“Not a thing,” grumbled the big man as he handed the binoculars other to his partner. “Maybe he had a jump pack in his gear.”
Saska lifts the device to her eyes, scanning in the opposite direction as Biv sighs loudly. She hesitates, and lets out a low, slow whistle.
“What is it?” mumbles Biv and he wipes sweat from his brow. “See a Sandhawk? I could use a snack right now….” Biv smiled wryly.
“Nope.” She rolls her eyes and hands the binoculars back to Biv. “Speeder.”
Biv frowns, and swipes the binoculars from his partner. He scans the sand, finding it right away. Out on a rock mesa, the tiny Landspeeder can be seen gliding across the desert floor.
Biv looks at Saska, stowing the binoculars. “I’ve got a bad feeling about this…”
Saska nods, and without another word the two soldiers move to get into place to ambush the landspeeder, both assuming that whomever is coming is not a friendly…
