The year is 1491.

This is the year of The Scarlet Witch.

Although Faerûn has had some time to recover from the events now known as The Rise of Tiamat, many tumultuous events has rocked the Realms this year. Vajra, the current Blackstaff of Waterdeep, continues to struggle to discover who or what is “The Scarlet Witch.”

In High Forest, a group of monks calling themselves The Ones Who Walk eliminate the demonic presence possessing the Grandfather Tree.  This leads to a movement led by the elfwoman  Morgwais Nightmeadow  to unite the disparate elf tribes of the High Forest through the Caerilcarn (Council of the Wood) to resurrect the ancient kingdom of Eaerlann.

Neverwinter celebrated the return of their king, Dagult Neverember, from the dead.   He was able to make peace with the Sons of Alagondar, and Neverwinter prospers under Neverember’s rulership.

Waterdeep suffered the loss of many of their Masked Lords along with nearly a dozen guildmasters. Six new Masked Lords were chosen by Open Lord Laeral Silverhand. She also named Elminster Aumar to be the new Sheriff of Waterdeep.

Mystra imposed heavy restrictions on the use of mind-reading and mind-reaming magic, especially when used on other spellcasters.

Called by the Elder Elemental Eye to serve, four corrupt prophets rose from the depths of anonymity to claim mighty weapons with direct links to the power of the elemental princes. Each of these prophets assembled a cadre of cultists and creatures to serve them in the construction of four elemental temples of lethal design giving rise to a new Incarnation of the Cult of Elemental Evil.
